Pacers Fall in Playoff Series
Pacers Lose to Celtics in Seven
Indiana's Season Ends with Game 7 Heartbreak
The Indiana Pacers' season came to an end on Sunday night with a 109-106 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series. The Pacers led by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics rallied to tie the game and eventually win it on a layup by Jayson Tatum with just seconds remaining.
The loss was a heartbreaking end to a season that saw the Pacers exceed expectations. After finishing with the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers upset the No. 1-seeded Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs. They then took the Celtics to the limit in the second round, but ultimately fell short of reaching the Eastern Conference finals.
The Pacers were led in scoring by Domantas Sabonis, who had 23 points and 12 rebounds in Game 7. Malcolm Brogdon added 22 points, while Caris LeVert had 20 points. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics, who were led by Tatum's 26 points.
The Pacers will now enter the offseason with a number of questions to answer. They will need to decide whether to re-sign LeVert, who is set to become a free agent. They will also need to address their need for a true point guard.
Despite the disappointing end to the season, the Pacers have a lot to be optimistic about. They have a young and talented roster, and they should be a contender in the Eastern Conference for years to come.
