Political Career
Cazeneuve began his political career as a member of the Socialist Party. He served as mayor of Cherbourg-Octeville from 2001 to 2012. In 2012, he was appointed Minister of the Interior by President François Hollande. He held this position until 2014, when he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development. In 2016, he was appointed Prime Minister of France.
As Prime Minister, Cazeneuve has overseen a number of important reforms, including the passage of a new labor law and the implementation of a state of emergency following the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015. He has also played a key role in France's response to the Syrian refugee crisis.
