FIA announces record-breaking 24-race Formula 1 calendar for 2024
World Motor Sport Council approves schedule
The 2024 Formula 1 season will feature a record-breaking 24 races, the FIA has announced.
The calendar, which was approved by the World Motor Sport Council, includes races in new and returning venues, such as Las Vegas and Monaco. The season will begin in Bahrain on March 2 and conclude in Abu Dhabi on November 24.
Other highlights of the 2024 calendar include:
- Three races in the United States (Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas)
- Two races in China (Shanghai and Beijing)
- The return of the Monaco Grand Prix after a one-year absence
- A new race in Saudi Arabia (Jeddah)
- The removal of the French Grand Prix from the calendar
The FIA has also confirmed that the 2024 season will see a number of changes to the technical regulations, including the introduction of a new qualifying format and a revised points system.
