Amazon Prime Subscription Price Increase
Annual Fee to Rise to $139
Monthly Subscription Also Affected
Amazon Prime members will soon be paying more for their subscriptions. The e-commerce giant announced on Thursday that it will be increasing the annual Prime subscription fee from $119 to $139. The monthly subscription fee will also increase from $12.99 to $14.99.
This is the first time Amazon has raised the price of Prime since 2018. The company cited rising operating costs as the reason for the increase.
Prime members enjoy a number of benefits, including free shipping on millions of items, access to Prime Video and Prime Music, and other perks. Amazon hopes that the price increase will not deter people from subscribing to Prime.
Despite the price increase, Prime remains a good value for many shoppers. The annual subscription fee still works out to less than $12 per month, and Prime members save money on shipping and other benefits.
