Mbappe's masterclass as PSG take control of Dortmund tie
French forward stars as Parisians win first leg of Champions League last-16 clash

Kylian Mbappe provided the breakthrough for Paris St-Germain as they opened their Champions League campaign with victory over Borussia Dortmund. The French forward scored the game's only goal in front of a sold-out Parc des Princes crowd as PSG took a slender advantage into the second leg of their last-16 tie. Dortmund had started the brightest and created the better chances in the opening stages, but PSG grew into the game and Mbappe's goal was just reward for their dominance. Neymar and Lionel Messi both missed chances to extend PSG's lead, but the win was enough to give the Ligue 1 leaders a narrow advantage ahead of the second leg in Germany. Mbappe's goal was his 25th of the season and it was his 10th in the Champions League. The France international has now scored in each of his last five games in the competition and he will be looking to continue his impressive form in the second leg. Dortmund will need to produce a much-improved performance in the second leg if they are to progress to the quarter-finals. The German side have lost their last two games in all competitions and they will need to be at their best to overcome PSG.
