**Iowa Gambling Task Now Available on PARiConnect PARs** **December 15, 2023** Researchers now have access to a new tool to study decision-making behavior with the implementation of the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT) on PARiConnect PARs. The IGT is a psychological task designed to simulate real-life decision-making scenarios. Participants face a series of choices involving probabilistic rewards and punishments, and their decisions can reveal patterns of behavior that may be related to disorders such as addiction and compulsive gambling. This adapted version of the IGT, known as the Iowa Gambling Task Version 2 (IGT2), allows for use on PARs, a specialized research platform. The IGT2 includes 100 trials, guided by basic instructions, to assess probabilistic learning and decision-making processes. By using the IGT2 on PARiConnect PARs, researchers can gain valuable insights into the neural mechanisms underlying decision-making behavior. This tool is expected to aid in the understanding of various neuropsychiatric conditions and contribute to the development of targeted interventions.
